Oracle Fusion SCM: Troubleshooting Inventory Transaction Errors
Oracle Fusion SCM: Troubleshooting Inventory Transaction Errors
Inventory issues often involve a transaction that is pending, rejected, processed in an unexpected organization, or reflected differently across inquiries and reports. Start by identifying the exact transaction and its status.
1. Capture the transaction context
Record the item, inventory organization, subinventory, locator if applicable, transaction type, quantity, source document, and transaction date.
2. Check the processing status
Review the transaction’s current status and any interface or processing error details. Determine whether the transaction has been submitted, is awaiting processing, or has failed validation.
3. Validate organization and item setup
Confirm that the item is assigned to the intended organization and that required subinventories, locators, units of measure, and transaction controls are configured appropriately.
4. Trace the source document
For receiving-related issues, follow the purchase order schedule and receipt routing. For other movements, confirm the source transaction and required approvals or reservations.
5. Reconcile the result
Compare transaction history with on-hand inquiries using the same organization, subinventory, locator, lot, serial, and time context. Investigate timing and filter differences before adjusting stock.
Control reminder
Do not repeat or manually adjust a transaction until its original status and downstream effects are understood. Follow the organization’s inventory control and approval procedures.
